About Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a seating capacity of around 132,000. Built on the site of the old Motera ground and reopened in 2020, it is the home of cricket in Gujarat and a regular host of marquee international fixtures.
The redeveloped arena replaced the original Sardar Patel (Motera) Stadium that first opened in 1982. Its vast bowl, four dressing rooms, a corporate box ring and LED floodlights mounted on the roof rather than towers make it one of the most modern grounds anywhere in the game.
The stadium has staged everything from day-night Tests and IPL finals to high-profile India fixtures in front of record crowds, and it is the centrepiece of the wider Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave.
