About MA Chidambaram Stadium
The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, popularly known as Chepauk, is one of the oldest cricket grounds in India, dating back to 1916. It is renowned for its spin-friendly pitches and knowledgeable, sporting crowds.
Chepauk is the home of Tamil Nadu cricket and the Chennai Super Kings, and has a long Test history, including the famous 1986 tied Test between India and Australia — only the second tie in Test cricket.
The slow, turning surface makes it a stronghold for spin bowling, and the venue is regarded as one of the toughest places for visiting teams to play in India.
