About New Wanderers Stadium
The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, nicknamed the “Bullring” for its steep, enclosing stands and intense atmosphere, is South Africa’s most famous cricket ground. It sits at high altitude on the Highveld.
The thin air and quick outfield give the Wanderers a reputation for pace, bounce and big hitting, and it has produced some of cricket’s most remarkable matches — including the famous 438 one-day game between South Africa and Australia in 2006.
It is the home of the Central Gauteng Lions and a regular host of marquee Tests, ODIs and T20 internationals.
