The ICC and ECB have officially unveiled the complete schedule for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, and it promises to be a landmark edition. Set to run from June 12 to July 5 across England and Wales, the 10th edition of the tournament will feature a record 12 teams for the first time in the competition's history.
The biggest storyline? Debutant Netherlands have been drawn into Group 1 alongside heavyweights India, six-time champions Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh — making it one of the toughest groups in Women's T20 World Cup history.
Groups Confirmed
Group 1: Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group 2: West Indies, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland
Netherlands Make History
The Netherlands earned their maiden T20 World Cup qualification in style, winning all three of their Super Six matches during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers held in Nepal last month. They now step onto the biggest stage in women's T20 cricket — and the challenge could not be greater.
Scotland and Ireland also secured their qualification spots, completing the 12-team lineup alongside Bangladesh. Notably, one-third of the teams at this Women's T20 World Cup 2026 will be from Europe — a significant milestone for the global growth of women's cricket.
India vs Pakistan Headlines Opening Weekend
The marquee clash of the group stage is undoubtedly India vs Pakistan, scheduled for June 14 at Edgbaston. India, the current ODI World Cup champions, will enter the tournament as one of the title favourites and will look to add the T20 crown to their cabinet.
Earlier on the same day, Netherlands will play their historic first-ever T20 World Cup fixture against Bangladesh at the same venue, making June 14 a momentous day for the tournament.

Seven Venues, One Grand Final at Lord's
A total of 33 matches will be played across seven iconic venues: Edgbaston, Old Trafford, Headingley, Hampshire Bowl, Bristol County Ground, The Oval, and Lord's. Both semi-finals will be held at The Oval, while the grand final takes place at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground on July 5 — the same venue that hosted the 2009 final when England lifted the inaugural trophy.
Tournament Format
The 12 teams are divided into two groups of six. Each team plays five group-stage matches against every other team in their group. The top two from each group advance to the semi-finals. The Group 1 winner faces the Group 2 runner-up, and vice versa, before the final at Lord's.
