Indian cricket star "King Kohli" has once again cemented his dominance in the world of cricket with a historic performance.
During the first ODI against New Zealand at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, Kohli achieved a monumental milestone, officially becoming the second-highest run-scorer in the history of international cricket (across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is).
By surpassing the legendary Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara, who had 28,016 runs to his name, Kohli has moved into an elite bracket where he now trails only the 'God of Cricket,' Sachin Tendulkar, who leads the charts with 34,357 runs.
In addition to climbing the all-time rankings, Kohli set a world record by becoming the fastest player to reach the 28,000-run mark in international cricket.
During his brilliant 93-run knock, he crossed this landmark the moment he scored his 25th run of the innings. Remarkably, Virat achieved this feat in just 624 innings, breaking the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the same milestone in 644 innings.
By reaching this target 20 innings faster than Tendulkar, Kohli has once again demonstrated his extraordinary consistency and world-class fitness, further solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest to have ever played the game.
