IND vs NED T20 WC 2026: Dube's Power-Hitting Keeps India's Winning Streak Intact

IND vs NED T20 World Cup 2026: India extended their flawless run in the T20 World Cup 2026, securing their 12th consecutive victory in the tournament's history with a clinical 17-run win over the Netherlands.

On a day where the top order flickered but didn't flame, it was Shivam Dube's explosive half-century that propelled India to a match-winning total at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Dube and Pandya Rescue India

Opting to bat first after winning their first toss in four at this T20 World Cup, India found themselves in a spot of bother early on. Abhishek Sharma's lean patch continued as he fell for a third duck of the tournament, bowled by Aryan Dutt without scoring.

Ishan Kishan's quickfire 18 was cut short by the disciplined Dutt, while Tilak Varma (31) fell to a stunning catch by Roelof van der Merwe at long-off. When Captain Suryakumar Yadav (34) picked out the sweeper at fine leg in the 14th over, India were stuttering at 110/4.

Enter Shivam Dube. The left-hander took the game by the scruff of its neck, smashing a blistering 66 off just 31 balls – his highest T20I score. Alongside Hardik Pandya (30 off 21), Dube orchestrated a match-winning partnership that dismantled the Dutch bowling attack in the death overs.

Dube's innings, laced with six towering sixes and four boundaries, ensured India finished on a formidable 193/6. Logan van Beek was the pick of the Dutch bowlers with 3/56, while Dutt's impressive 2/19 from his four overs kept India in check through the middle phase.

Varun's Spin Web Stifles the Dutch

The Netherlands began their chase cautiously, as Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah swung the new ball both ways, conceding just 22 off the first four overs.

Varun Chakravarthy was the standout performer with the ball, striking in his very first over to bowl Max O'Dowd with a sharp googly that crashed into leg stump. He finished with remarkable figures of 3/14.

His highlight of the night came in the 12th over, when he dismissed Colin Ackermann – caught by Rinku Singh at deep midwicket – and then bowled Aryan Dutt with a wrong'un next ball, leaving him on a hat-trick.

Though Scott Edwards survived the hat-trick delivery, the damage was done with the Netherlands reeling at 94/4.

Despite the collapse, the Netherlands refused to go down without a fight. Bumrah returned to clean up skipper Edwards, but late cameos from Zach Lion-Cachet (26 off 16) and Noah Croes (25* off 12) punished some loose deliveries in the final overs.

However, with 28 needed off the last over bowled by Dube, the task was beyond them as India restricted the Netherlands to 176/7.

Road to the Super 8s

With this victory, India finish at the top of Group A with a perfect 4-0 record. They now head into the Super 8 stage with massive momentum, where they are scheduled to face South Africa on February 22 in a high-stakes rematch of the 2024 World Cup final.
